Adding a Kitchen Counter Post - Cuckoo4Design
ast week and this weekend I worked on a project that I have been pushing off for a long long time. If you look close in the next two photos then you can probably see that the right kitchen counter post wasn’t attached yet
Turn a brass tag into a stylish keychain using metal stamps, a hammer and this simple tutorial.
I’ve always wanted to work with a metal in a more creative way. Last year, I finally splurged and bought a metal stamp set: the alphabet letters, steel bench block, and leather sand pad (which helps keep the noise level to a minimum – stamping metal can be loud!) added up to around $60. Since then, these supplies have opened up a whole new world of experimentation: custom jewelry, hand-stamped leather goods, and these totally custom, totally easy stamped brass key tags.
Beautiful dramatic dining room with deep walls and picture molding. Completely DIYed! Lots of other befores-and-afters at this link too!
If I had had the opportunity to invite you to dinner at our home about a year and a half ago, we probably would’ve enjoyed a classic peanut-butter-and-jelly while perched atop five-gallon drums of paint or sheetrock mud in our unfinished living room.
If you still wanted to be friends after that experience and you came over to eat now, I would (partially) redeem myself by serving a real dinner on an actual table and actual chairs in an actual dining room, like a real grown-up! (Not saying the food would be worth raving about, but at least we’d be sitting at a real table now.)
How to paint like a pro
Here at the DIY village, we’re no strangers to paint! As a matter of fact, in our current home, we’ve added at least a coat of paint to every single room! Along the way, I’ve tried different rollers and cut in tools that claimed to make painting less of a hassle, most of which left me with empty pockets and a less than desirable finished result! Luckily, I didn’t throw in the towel. While Jacque and I were working on our latest paint project, Covering Red Paint, I finally found the right combination of paint tools I’ve been looking for! With help from the HomeRight QuickPainter and the Paintstick EZ-Twist, I’ve finally figured out how to paint like a pro!
Easy DIY Tutorial: T-Shirt into an Infinity Scarf.
I’m a girl who loves to accessorize. There’s just something about adding an extra detail to an outfit with a pop of color or a fun print. Scarves are a great way to achieve that look without much effort. I have about 10, but I could easily have so many more if I’d let myself buy them! Now that I have a DIY solution, I see many more scarves in my future.
